    Overall, I think this new version of the handbook is very well thought out. I do have a few problems with some of the directions the content took. As I am an Org Comm social scientist, I'm amazed at how much of the book is now specifically geared towards interpretive and critical understandings of organizational communication/5(3).   As a psychiatrist working in the field of organizational consultation, I was particularly interested in what this book might have to offer. Alas, it is not what I'd hoped for. Currently in its second edition, the Handbook was designed and written by and for the relatively closed community of academic scholars in the field of communications, and Author: Eric Lister.
